Andy Baker

Born in England, Andy Baker spent 32 years living and working across Africa, visiting 42 of the continent’s 54 countries. He held CEO, COO and Managing Director roles for more than 25 years with organisations including DHL, Altech, and G4S, where he served as Africa CEO, leading a workforce of 123,000 employees across 27 countries. He spent 20 years in the logistics industry and has worked in technology businesses and security. He has managed several billion-pound organisations. He spent 25 years living in South Africa and 7 years in Nairobi, Kenya. Andy holds an MBA from Cranfield University and is a regular guest lecturer at several business schools. In the past 12 months, he has lectured on leadership, strategic management, resilience, and managing in emerging markets, and has held several interactive sessions at two business schools entitled “A fireside chat with a CEO”. Over the course of his career, he has served on more than 40 boards across Africa, Europe, Australia and India. He is the author of two published books — an autobiography and a novel — and is currently completing his third book. Andy is 61 years old, has three adult children and a grandson, and lives in the Cotswolds with his wife, Yash.
