Asia Global Fellow bringing Asian capital to Africa
27 May 2026

Nnanna Anyanwu, Founder and CEO of KXT Energy, is an Asia Global Fellow of the University of Hong Kong's Asia Global Institute, one of Asia's most selective leadership programmes designed to build bridges between Asia's most dynamic economies and the rest of the world. He also completed an MBA Exchange Programme at Kobe University in Japan, deepening his understanding of how Asian capital markets, development finance, and infrastructure platforms operate.
The Asia Global Fellows programme brings together senior executives, policymakers, and thought leaders from across Asia and beyond to explore the forces reshaping global economics, governance, and development. Fellows gain direct access to Asia's most influential capital networks, development institutions, and infrastructure ecosystems, networks that Nnanna now actively deploys in building KXT Energy's investor base and project pipeline.
Asia represents one of the world's most significant sources of infrastructure capital. Development finance institutions, sovereign wealth funds, private equity platforms, and conglomerates from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and across Southeast Asia have collectively deployed hundreds of billions of dollars into infrastructure across emerging markets. Africa, with its documented annual infrastructure gap, represents the next frontier for that capital.
Nnanna's time in Hong Kong and Japan gave him firsthand insight into how Asian capital is structured and deployed, including the due diligence expectations, governance frameworks, risk appetite, and partnership models that define Asian institutional investment. At KXT Energy, that understanding directly informs how the company structures its projects, presents its pipeline, and builds relationships with Asian co-investors and development partners.
His career across APAC and EMEA, spanning roles at McKinsey, BCG, Oilserv, IHS Towers, and AMCO, means he has operated on both sides of this capital corridor, understanding what Asian investors require and what African infrastructure projects need to become bankable.
"Asia's development story is the most compelling proof of what infrastructure investment can unlock," said Nnanna. "The capital, the engineering expertise, and the development finance models are there. KXT's role is to build the bridge, making African infrastructure accessible, bankable, and attractive to Asian investors who are ready to deploy at scale."
